We cooperate in 4 countries structure with the Polish, Czech and Slovakian teams on a daily basis to offer the best to our customers. Our first Tesco Business Service has been established in 2004 in Bengaloru, India. The next step now to set up a brand new Tesco Business Services team for Central Europe. The team will be based in a new business services center in our existing Vaci út office in Budapest and will create hundreds of new specialist roles. The new team will provide dedicated support for colleagues and customers in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

Roles and responsibilities:

Understand and interpret the legislative guidelines, Tesco policies, diverse terms and conditions, Tesco Payroll & HR related processes. To deliver quality and reliable service as per the SLA guidelines by resolving all queries raised by our People partners in stores / office / DCs and by State Authorities.


Query management:

  • Liaise with various teams to ensure all queries and issues are resolved on time and necessary corrections are made on the relevant HR and payroll systems.
  • Provide floor support by resolving complex queries for team members and handle irate callers by resolving the issue effectively.
  • Use best judgement to asses if request is valid (correct in form, or as per the process defined in the SOP) before communicating actions or providing resolution.
  • Accuracy and time taken to respond and resolve the queries is maintained as per process standards & deliver work as per the standard operating procedures defined for each of these processes.


Payroll closure:

  • Ensure critical activities in line with Payroll closure are completed accurately and on time.
  • Complete validations and controls defined for the People and Payroll admin processes to identify any anomalies. Also, highlight anomalies to the respective teams for rectification.
  • Create Payroll closure files and reports necessary to complete other activities like payout, accounting, reporting to state authorities, etc.
  • Create and deliver ad hoc or mid-month payroll files to be able to transmit off-cycle payments to colleagues.
  • Liaise with various teams to ensure payroll activities are completed on time and payments are paid on time.
  • Use best judgement to asses if data is accurate and complete.


Communication and Training:

  • Support delivery of process training for People partners in Stores / Office / DCs to communicate change in processes / policies / legislation and to increase the overall knowledge which would further help in streamlining processes and improving the quality of the input received by People Operations.
  • Train and mentor new joiners in the team on process specifications. Conduct checks and validations for the activities processed and tasks managed by the new hires during the nesting period.

Support in defining the process controls for every activity to ensure accuracy is maintained and processes are efficient


To support the Tesco CE business by

  • Resolving all queries effectively and in a timely manner
  • Demonstrating speed and accuracy on the above tasks
  • Understanding and adhering to the GDPR guidelines

You will be great in this role if you have:

  • English  & Hungarian  
  • Minimum required – High school education
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a Payroll environment 
  • MS Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) - Intermediate
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Customer service mindset
  • Ability to handle personal data with highest level of confidentiality
  • Training and mentoring skills
